Global El Niño and Extreme Weather Response

Thanks for taking action – now take the next step.

Millions of people already struggling in poverty amid dry weather in areas across the globe are now seeing conditions deteriorate even further as the El Niño weather phenomenon – the strongest warming of Pacific Ocean waters seen in years – is making the drought even worse. The most severely affected areas are currently in parts of Africa, Central America, and the Pacific islands. Lack of rainfall is affecting food production as crops and livestock are dying.

Oxfam is urgently seeking funds to help people in countries like Malawi and Zimbabwe, where we are already responding. We also intend to respond to urgent humanitarian needs in other countries in Latin America and the Pacific – but we must find additional funds to meet these urgent needs.
