Puerto Rico Hurricane Maria Response

Hurricane Maria has had a devastating effect on Puerto Rico. In the days following the September 2017 storm, clean water, food, fuel, electricity, and health care were in desperately short supply. Despite possessing more than enough resources, the United States has struggled to mobilize a robust emergency response. Months later, tens of thousands of people were still without power, lacked a reliable source of clean water, and faced limited health care services.

Oxfam has been working with local partners to meet Puerto Ricans' most urgent needs for clean water and light. And we have been calling on people in power for more and better resources for rebuilding.
