In March, Cyclone Idai tore through Southern Africa, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Winds of nearly 87 miles per hour destroyed farmlands and damaged houses, and floods destroyed homes in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Malawi. Six weeks later, Cyclone Kenneth hit northern Mozambique, with more high winds and heavy rains.
More than a thousand people are feared to have died, with thousands still missing and millions left destitute without food or basic services. One of the hardest hit areas is Beira, the fourth largest city in Mozambique, where people are suffering from cholera.
You can help make a difference for survivors. Oxfam is responding with water and sanitation services in order to prevent cholera, as well as food and other aid. Please, donate now to help meet the most critical needs.
