On March 14 and 15, Cyclone Idai tore through Southern Africa, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Winds of nearly 87 miles per hour destroyed farmlands and damaged houses, some beyond repair.
More than a thousand people are feared to have died, with thousands still missing and millions left destitute without food or basic services. One of the hardest hit areas is Beira, the fourth largest city in Mozambique, where people are suffering from cholera.
You can help make a difference for survivors. Oxfam is responding with water and sanitation services in order to prevent cholera, as well as food and other aid. Please, donate now to help meet the most critical needs.
